More Junk Corporate Science

Looks like the “research” claiming that texting and emailing reduced iq was commissioned by and spun for HP in an attempt to sell stuff. [Phew, I’m relieved – back to my emails now]. Anyone surprised?

Me throw rock at HP sales rep.

When was the last time you took a Mensa workout? I’m not sure if it’s email or senility settling in, but my numerical reasoning has suffered dreadfully in recent years. I’m sure it can’t all be attributed to working in a Business Faculty either.

Ah well. Fortunately, my IQ tests still regard me as hovering around the genius level. What a shame that doing IQ tests simply means you’re good at doing IQ tests and doesn’t actually translate to anything useful?

My numerical reasoning’s always been dodgy and I think it improved when I was working in a business faculty – stop me lest I start getting SPSS nostalgia!

I have my doubts about the critique at Mind Hacks. (And I couldn’t find the trackback link)
